Five Towns. One Treasure Hunt. A Region-Wide Challenge Launches July 1 Across Middlesex County
CHELMSFORD, Mass. - TelAve -- The Treasure Hunt Game
This summer, five local towns will turn into real-life puzzle maps as a new regional event invites families, friends, and communities to compete in a one-of-a-kind treasure hunt. The Treasure Hunt Game officially launches July 1, 2026, with simultaneous editions in Woburn, Winchester, Burlington, and Reading. Each town will host its own five-day hunt, challenging participants to solve clues, explore their surroundings, and ultimately uncover a hidden prize somewhere within their community.
Each game features:
A Community-First Design: The game has been carefully structured to be safe and respectful of public spaces. Nothing is buried, no digging or trespassing is allowed and all locations are in publicly accessible areas. "This isn't about disruption—it's about exploration," organizers added. "We want people discovering their towns, not damaging them."

It's a friendly rivalry across towns. While each town hosts its own hunt, the broader event introduces a unique dynamic: Which town will solve it first? The simultaneous launches create a regional buzz, as participants compare progress and race to complete their town's challenge. It is designed for families and all ages and blends: problem-solving, local history, outdoor activity and team-based fun. Organizers expect participation from families, friend groups, and individuals of all ages. The game also supports a 32-year old local nonprofit. Proceeds from all five hunts support Top Secret Kids, a public charity that provides low-cost, high-impact science and math programs to students throughout the Boston area.
