Upgraded Emergency Tech Keeps Owensboro Health Ahead During Winter Storm
TelAve News/10850951
Owensboro Health in Kentucky uses GD's CAREpoint Workstation to streamline EMS-hospital communication during a winter storm, enhancing patient care and outcomes.
RIDGEFIELD PARK, N.J. - TelAve -- Owensboro Health streamlined communication between EMS and Hospitals teams during Winter storm by using GD's CAREpoint Workstation. With the upgraded emergency department technology, the team efficiently handled over 5,000 incoming emergency calls.
The CAREpoint Workstation played a pivotal role in ensuring that vital patient information was transmitted quickly and securely, including 12 Lead EKGs, allowing hospital teams to be prepared before patients arrived. This seamless communication contributed to improved care and outcomes for patients in the region. When call volume was too high for their call center to answer every call, they were able to use the voice acknowledge feature on CAREpoint to play a prerecorded message to acknowledge their EMS teams. With call history, they were able to have instant access to replay and review those calls when time allowed, keeping them from having to call back EMS, ultimately saving both teams time.
