Ventura College Foundation Accepting Scholarship Applications for 2026-27 School Year
TelAve News/10875870
The foundation awarded a record $940,854 through 435 scholarships last year.
VENTURA, Calif. - TelAve -- The Ventura College Foundation is now accepting scholarship applications for the 2026-27 school year.
November 25 is the application deadline for scholarship applications for the Paramedic and Career Education programs. Scholarship recipients will be notified by mid-December. The application deadline for all other scholarships is January 22, 2026. Scholarship recipients will be notified by mid-April 2026. Scholarship award distributions will begin August 1.
Students currently enrolled at Ventura College in the 2025-2026 academic year and who have completed or are on track to complete at least six units in the semester are eligible to apply. Units earned in previous semesters at Ventura College count towards the unit requirement.
"A majority of our students experience some type of financial insecurity. Scholarships can pay for much of the costs associated with a community college education," says Anne Paul King, Ventura College Foundation executive director. "Scholarships can make all the difference. For those students transferring to a four-year college, scholarships can relieve at least a portion of the financial stress."

The foundation awarded a record $940,854 through 435 scholarships last year. The minimum scholarship amount is $1,000, but continuing students received an average of $2,100 in the 25-26 cycle.
Most scholarships are available for any field of study, though many target specific majors including engineering, environmental science, computer sciences, healthcare, nursing, business and education. Phoenix scholarships support non-traditional students, including active military and veterans, who have taken time off and are returning to college to continue their education.
Scholarships are possible through annual contributions and scholarship endowments from the Ventura College Foundation board of directors, donors, and corporate partners.
"Our donors understand the impact scholarships can have on students," says King. "Their generous donations enable students to receive the education they need to enter the workforce, have successful careers, support their families and strengthen their communities."
