LEBANON, Ohio - TelAve -- After more than a year of robust community engagement, the Warren County Park District (WCPD) is proud to announce the adoption of its new Strategic Plan, a visionary roadmap designed to guide the next decade of growth, conservation, and community connection across Warren County's parks, trails, and natural areas.

Adopted by the Board of Park Commissioners on June 19, 2025, the plan reflects the voices of hundreds of residents, stakeholders, and partner organizations who participated through surveys, focus groups, and open houses. Their input helped shape a shared vision for a healthier, more connected, and more vibrant Warren County.

"This plan is more than a document—it's a commitment to our community," said Matt Latham, CEO of WCPD. "It reflects our belief that parks and green spaces are essential to the well-being of every resident, and it charts a bold course for how we'll protect and enhance those spaces for generations to come."

• Mission: To enhance community well-being by preserving natural spaces where all are invited to experience the great outdoors.
• Vision: To be a regional leader in conservation, outdoor recreation, and nature education—connecting people with nature and each other.
• Strategic Goals:
• Conservation: Protect regionally significant natural areas and watersheds.
• Recreation: Improve access, comfort, and amenities across park properties.
• Education: Promote understanding and appreciation of local ecosystems.
• Connectivity: Expand trails and green corridors that link communities.
• Community: Foster partnerships and inclusive engagement.
• Operations: Strengthen infrastructure and public safety for all visitors.

The plan also outlines priority actions such as leveraging grant funding, enhancing signage and wayfinding, and positioning parks as welcoming spaces that support physical, mental, and environmental health.
