WOODBRIDGE, Va. - TelAve -- The annual RSA Conference hosted an Open XDR Summit where Top MSSPs could collaborate on that very question.  Michael Crean (CEO, Solutions Granted, Inc.) and Steve Garrison (VP Marketing, Stellar Cyber) met in a fireside chat.  Crean was asked to elaborate on his business experience and what has driven his success as one of the Top MSSP's globally.

Crean believes, "The technologies we have chosen to allow us to confidently look at information and create meaningful actions, which deliver the outcomes our partners and their customers expect."  Crean and Garrison agreed that open API's are important, but what is vital – is the people that drive them.  Talent.  What talent looks like and where to find it.  Are the standards the same as 20 years ago?  No.  The standards for finding talent have changed as quickly as the malicious actors have changed their approaches on attack.

Finding talent is no longer about degrees or years of experience.  It was more about finding the individual with the drive, passion, and ability to communicate openly in our field and with those we serve.  Service or to defend comes naturally to Crean, a Veteran, a US Army Ranger.  Crean drove the point home, "we can't focus on just the technology. The fact that many people can get distracted by new and exciting technology or what a particular tool accomplishes - but it's the people and process behind the solution that makes the biggest difference."
