YONKERS, NY ~ Yonkers, NY - Mayor Mike Spano has announced the expansion of the Yonkers Office for the Aging's Farmers Market Coupon Program, which will now provide greater access to eligible seniors through new distribution sites at select senior residences. This expansion has been made possible through the support of Family Service Society of Yonkers and Municipal Housing Authority for the City of Yonkers (MHACY). In addition, coupons will also be available for pickup at the Chema Community Center from August 4th to August 6th between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
According to Mayor Spano, this program not only encourages seniors to get out and shop, but also supports local farms and provides access to fresh, homegrown produce. He expressed his excitement about reaching more seniors by expanding distribution at senior residences, making it easier for them to benefit from this incredible program.
