St. Louis event features free Hanukkah gelt for children, plus singing, storytelling and crafts

ST. LOUIS - TelAve -- Hanukkah storytelling, STEAM activities for children, and a singing presentation will be featured at the 29th Hanukkah Celebration to be held 5:30pm to 6:30pm, Tuesday, December 9, 2025 at Schnucks Ladue Crossing shopping center, I-170 at Ladue Road. The event will take place at the Barnes & Noble Booksellers.

The Hanukkah Celebration will be emceed by Rabbi Shmuel Miller, head of school at the H.F. Epstein Hebrew Academy and features Hanukkah storytelling with master educator Mrs. Jackie Oppenheimer, and Hanukkah songs. The event will also feature STEAM activities for children.

All children will receive a free gift of traditional Hanukkah chocolate "gelt" (gold coins). Hanukkah begins the evening of December 14 and is an eight-day celebration of the Festival of Lights commemorating the rededication of the Holy Temple.

The Hanukkah Celebration is free and open to the public.
