MITCHELL, S.D. - TelAve -- Aureon, a provider of centralized video head-end services since 2001, has selected the Innovative Systems Adaptive Bit Rate (ABR) and HTTP Live Streaming (HLS) solutions for use by video providers in their 60+ system network. According to Tim Schieffer, the Director of Products & Solutions for Aureon, the decision to choose Innovative Systems as an option for their live streaming video was based on its long-standing work and commitment to the rural telecommunications industry for over 20 years.

While most of the Iowa video providers they serve are still offering traditional IPTV service, Schieffer adds that consumers are trending towards viewing content from streaming devices, which will require them to provide a streaming service in parallel.

Localized Approach to Live Streaming
The Aureon ABR/HLS solution has a distinct advantage over national live streaming providers because the local video operators will be able to stay connected and engaged in full-service customer support by allowing live streaming access to customer owned ABR devices. Aureon's Video Solutions Product Manager Chad Raymond says their ABR/HLS solution allows video services to be supported in a way that other broadband services are supported. Another differentiator is the ability to offer live streaming from all over-the-air broadcast channels. Since the announcement of the new streaming service, Schieffer added that they have received a high level of interest from their system operators who are looking to add a live streaming option for their customers.
