ACC St. Louis Chapter Receives International Recognition for Diversity and Inclusion

ST. LOUIS - TelAve -- The Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) St. Louis Chapter is thrilled to announce that it has been honored with the prestigious 2024 Best Diversity Initiative Program award from ACC Global. This international recognition celebrates the Chapter's groundbreaking Diversity and Inclusion Summer Internship Program, which has been instrumental in fostering a more diverse and inclusive legal profession.
The Chapter's innovative internship program provides first-year law students from underrepresented backgrounds with invaluable hands-on experience in St. Louis corporations. By immersing these talented individuals in the world of in-house counsel, the program aims to inspire and equip them for successful legal careers.
"We are incredibly proud of our Diversity and Inclusion Summer Internship Program and the positive impact it has made on the legal community," said Vikas M. Sunkari, 2024 Diversity and Inclusion Summer Internship Program Chair, and Assistant General Counsel at SSM Health. "This award is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our members, who are committed to creating a more equitable and inclusive future for all."

Beyond practical experience, the program offers interns a range of educational and networking opportunities, including:
"Our goal is to see alumni of this program thriving in top law firms and corporate legal departments. Many former interns have already launched successful careers in the St. Louis area, and we're excited to watch their continued growth," said Lisa Savoy, 2023 Chair of the ACC STL Social Justice Coalition, and Legal Counsel at Experian.
