MOUNT DORA, Fla. - TelAve -- After Lake County, Florida's recent record-setting rain event on October 26, 2025, Beucher Insurance Agency is urging Florida residents to consider and understand how flood insurance works. This historic rain event caused roads to collapse, washed-out culverts, caused stormwater failures, and widespread property damage across parts of Mount Dora, Eustis, Tavares, and surrounding areas. Beucher Insurance has published a new educational blog on flood insurance to help clarify the differences between homeowners' insurance and flood insurance, and why these two coverages should never be confused.
"Many homeowners believe their home policy automatically covers flood damage," says agency owner Andrew Beucher. "It does not. Rising water from outside sources, such as stormwater runoff, street flooding, drainage overflow, or an overwhelmed retention pond, requires a separate flood policy."
