Black Lion Indie Film Festival Returns May 1–3, 2026 with Film, Art, Networking, and Opportunities for Emerging Creatives
TelAve News/10893152
NORRISTOWN, Pa. - TelAve -- The Black Lion Indie Film Festival returns May 1–3, 2026, bringing an exciting multi-day celebration of independent film, creativity, and community to the Norristown area, Montgomery County, and the Greater Philadelphia region.
More than just a traditional film festival, Black Lion Indie Film Festival was created as a space where filmmakers, artists, musicians, designers, and other creatives can be recognized, showcased, and connected.
According to festival director Nate Reynolds, the vision for the festival is to create a platform that celebrates creativity in multiple forms while building stronger connections within the independent arts community. Reynolds says the festival is designed to be a showcase and a meaningful experience for creators and supporters.
Since its inaugural festival in December 2023, it has stood out for embracing multiple forms of artistic expression beyond filmmaking. In addition to film screenings, it has featured vendors, graphic designers, clothing designers, comic book creators, visual artists, spoken word performers, and musicians.

This year there is an even stronger emphasis on networking, with Friday dedicated to a networking mixer designed to help creatives connect, collaborate, and build meaningful relationships.
Attendees can expect a more interactive and educational experience throughout the weekend. Organizers are working to include a filmmaking workshop led by either a local university film instructor or an experienced independent film professional. The goal is to give aspiring filmmakers valuable insight into both the creative and business sides of the industry.
Another standout feature of the festival is its commitment to direct audience engagement. Festival Goers will have opportunities to connect with the BLIFF Festival Team and participating filmmakers, while screenings will also include Q&A sessions —an experience not often available outside of premieres and special featured events.
The festival is also proud to continue its investment in young talent. A scholarship will be awarded to a Montgomery County 12th-grade student who submits a short film in narrative, experimental, or documentary format. In addition, students in grades 9–11 will have the opportunity to showcase their work.
