TelAve News/10844353
~ On October 16, the Age Strong Commission held its annual "Party in the Park" event at Harambee Park in Dorchester's Franklin Field neighborhood. The event, which was attended by over 400 older adults from Boston, featured a day of fun, food, live music, dancing, and raffles.

Mayor Wu and Age Strong Commissioner Emily Shea were both present at the event and gave remarks. They also took the opportunity to honor Lillian O'Neal, a Boston resident and retired employee of the United States Postal Service. O'Neal is not only a poet but also a proud advocate for veterans and Black heroes. She uses her poetry to celebrate their contributions and sacrifices.
