It began on Tuesday, July 21, 2026 at 7:20 pm and ended at 10:37 pm on the same day. This event has created a potential health risk for the waters at the mouth of the Charles River and Inner Harbor.

The advisory will remain in effect until Thursday, July 23, 2026 at 10:37 pm, which is 48 hours after the overflow has ended. The public is advised to avoid contact with affected water bodies during this time and for an additional 48 hours after rainstorms end. This is due to increased health risks from bacteria and other pollutants associated with urban stormwater runoff and untreated or partially treated wastewater.
