California: Governor Newsom announces appointments 7.15.2026

~ Sacramento - Governor Gavin Newsom has announced several appointments to key positions in the state government on July 15, 2026. These appointments include Jason Reed as a member of the Collateral Recovery Disciplinary Review Committee, Josef Preciado's reappointment to the Contractors State Licensing Board, and Diana Love's reappointment to the Contractors State License Board.
Jason Reed, a resident of Rossmoor, has been appointed to the Collateral Recovery Disciplinary Review Committee. With over two decades of experience in the industry, Reed currently serves as the President of Nations Recovery Services, Inc. He is also a member of the Allied Finance Adjusters. As a Republican, Reed's appointment does not require Senate confirmation and he will receive a compensation of $100 per diem.
Josef Preciado has been reappointed to the Contractors State Licensing Board where he has served since 2024. Preciado brings a wealth of experience to this position, having previously worked as a Partnership Specialist at Sacramento Municipal Utilities District and as a Higher Education Consultant at Sova Solutions. He holds a Master of Public Policy and Public Administration degree from California State University, Sacramento and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Community Studies & Latin American Studies from the University of California, Santa Cruz. Preciado's appointment requires Senate confirmation and he will receive a compensation of $100 per diem. He is affiliated with the Democratic party.

Diana Love has also been reappointed to the Contractors State License Board where she has served since 2019. Love currently serves as Executive Director of Forget Us Not Community Services and previously worked as a Children and Youth Group Facilitator at Parents Anonymous Inc. She is also involved in various political organizations such as the California Democratic Party and is a member of groups like California Senior Legislature, American Association of Retired Persons (AARP), and Inland Communities Democratic Headquarters PAC. Her appointment requires Senate confirmation and she will receive a compensation of $100 per diem. Love is a Democrat.
In other news, Governor Newsom has announced the deployment of 10 CAL FIRE firefighters to support wildfire efforts in Oregon. With over 2,656 acres of land affected by the East Evans Creek Fire, California is stepping in to provide critical leadership positions to help combat the blaze.
