Candor Surveys adds Pilot mode to rehearse a survey before it's sent
TelAve News/10904309
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - TelAve -- Candor Surveys, from Golden Hills Software, has added Pilot mode: a way to rehearse a survey before it reaches the people who matter. A survey question only gets one real chance. A typo can be fixed after you publish. A confusing question can't, because by the time you notice, the people who read it have already answered it with whatever attention they had that day.
Pilot mode puts a survey in front of a few trusted readers while it is still a draft. It also tells you how far each of them got. "Reached question 6 of 9" turns out to be its own kind of answer: a tester who stalls in the middle rarely says so, because politeness and the survey both end at "looks good." The number says it for them.
In Pilot mode the survey stays a draft with its own private link. Up to ten people you choose go through it the way the people on your list will, and if a question gives them trouble, they can leave a note on that question, not just a general comment on the survey.
The notes come back inside Candor, each one waiting on the question it is about. You open the survey and the note is already sitting where the trouble was. When the rehearsal ends, the feedback is kept: a survey can go back to draft, be edited, and be rehearsed again.

"If you've ever lived through publishing a survey and only realizing afterward that question 4 didn't make sense to anybody, this is for you," said Chuck Boudreau, founder of Golden Hills Software. "Pilot mode catches that before you hit send. Not after."
By the time your survey reaches the people who matter, you already know it works.
Candor is survey software for people who don't do this every day. Every price is on the website: $30 a month, or $300 a year with two months free. The first survey is free, with unlimited questions and unlimited responses.
