WINCHESTER, Va. - TelAve -- DRIVEN BY SERVICE. POWERED BY GRATITUDE.

WINCHESTER, Va. —
Capon Valley Bank brought veterans, community organizations, local businesses and area residents together on Saturday, September 19, for its 4th Annual Veterans Community Festival at the Backseat Events Center in Winchester.

Held under the theme DRIVEN BY SERVICE. POWERED BY GRATITUDE., the annual event provided an opportunity for the community to come together in appreciation of the men and women who have served our country while connecting veterans and their families with organizations dedicated to supporting them.

A dozen veteran and community service organizations participated in this year's festival, including Top of Virginia Honor Flight, Access Independence, Freedom Alliance, Thin Line Dogs, Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association, Project Healing Waters, Disabled American Veterans, Women Veterans Network (WoVeN), the American Red Cross, Vietnam Veterans of America, VA Suicide Prevention and VFW Post 2123 Winchester.

One of the highlights of the afternoon was the Gratitude Ceremony, which provided a special opportunity to recognize veterans and reflect on their service and sacrifice.

This year's festival also expanded with the addition of a car show featuring cars, trucks, Jeeps and motorcycles. The show complemented the event's DRIVEN BY SERVICE. POWERED BY GRATITUDE. theme and brought even more members of the community together in support of local veterans.

"We started this event four years ago because we wanted to do more than simply say thank you," said Melba Thorne, Virginia Team Lead and Business Development Officer for Capon Valley Bank. "We wanted to create a day where veterans could be recognized, organizations that serve them could connect with the community, and people could come together to show their gratitude. Seeing so many organizations, businesses and community members participate this year made that especially meaningful."

Local businesses and individuals also supported the event by donating items for the festival's auction and raffles, with proceeds benefiting veteran nonprofit organizations.

Capon Valley Bank extends its appreciation to the veteran organizations, volunteers, businesses, donors and community members who helped make the fourth annual event possible.

"Community banking is about being part of the communities we serve," Thorne added. "This event gives us an opportunity to bring people together while recognizing the veterans who have given so much in service to our country."  https:///www.caponvalleybank.com
