Cellhire Wins Connectivity Gold at the Paris 2024 Games
TelAve News/10840494
YORK, U.K. - TelAve -- Cellhire, a global specialist in mobile and IoT connectivity, has successfully delivered a comprehensive range of connectivity solutions for the Paris 2024 Games.
With over 25 years of experience supporting major international events, Cellhire provided more than 19,000 voice and IoT solutions to personnel involved in the Games including athletes, organisers, broadcasters, media and sponsors.
Tony Guerion, Cellhire CEO, comments, "The Games are always extraordinary and historic, and this year was no exception. We're incredibly proud to have played a crucial role in ensuring seamless communication and connectivity for many involved in the games."
IoT Connectivity
Building on its earlier success providing critical IoT connectivity during the BBC's UK General Election coverage, Cellhire became a key supplier of IoT solutions for the Games. The company utilised its own core IoT network, powered by Orange, to guarantee reliable and secure connectivity for numerous applications from ticketing machines to push-to-talk solutions and live-streaming media equipment.

To meet the huge and complex IoT and data connectivity demands of the Games, Cellhire utilised eSIM technology as a core solution to help deliver the thousands of connections required. "The flexibility of eSIM technology allowed us to seamlessly address the complex connectivity needs of the Games, including, and crucially, speed and efficiency of deployment and scalability", says Guerion.
Above-and-beyond
Cellhire's involvement went beyond the delivery of connectivity and extended to delivering in-person support for its partners and customers. The company set up a dedicated support office in the heart of the French capital specifically for the Games. The company was able to respond quickly to last-minute requests and deliver solutions via its Paris-based team. Additionally, the office acted as a base for partners and customers seeking on-the-ground support.
Next up for Cellhire - providing IoT and voice and data communication solutions at the U.S. presidential election in November and the 2026 Winter Games in Milan.
