City of Colorado Springs closures in observance of Presidents Day Monday, scheduled furlough day Friday

~ Colorado Springs, CO - The City of Colorado Springs will be observing a furlough day on Friday, Feb. 13 and Presidents Day on Monday, Feb. 16. As a result, the city's administrative offices will be closed on these dates.
According to city officials, most administrative departments will not be open for regular business during this time. However, emergency services such as the police and fire departments and the 911 call center will continue to operate and respond as usual on both days.
In addition, city enterprises that are self-funded will remain open on Friday. Residents and businesses are advised to plan accordingly for any services that require in-person visits or administrative support.
The closures are part of the city's efforts to manage its budget and reduce expenses. More information about the furlough day closures can be found at ColoradoSprings.gov/FurloughDays.
The following city administrative and elected offices and agencies will be fully closed on both Friday and Monday: City Administration Building, City Clerk, City Hall, Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum (although it will be open regular hours on Saturday), Deerfield Hills Community Center, Municipal Court, Parks, Recreation & Cultural Services Administrative Building, Sales Tax Office, Sports Office at Memorial Park, and Westside Community Center.

These include: Administrative offices for Mountain Metropolitan Transit (although buses will operate on regular schedules both days), Evergreen and Fairview Cemeteries offices (although gates will remain open to visitors both days), Hillside Community Center, Therapeutic Recreation Program (administrative offices closed but scheduled programs still operating), Starsmore Visitor and Nature Center/Helen Hunt Falls Visitor Center.
On the other hand, some city entities will remain open as usual or have adjusted operating hours during this time. These include: all neighborhood, community and regional parks, open spaces and trails, Pikes Peak - America's Mountain (open normal hours), Patty Jewett and Valley Hi golf courses (open normal hours from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., weather permitting), Patty Jewett Bar & Grill (indoor dining open from 8 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.), Valley Hi Grill & Pub (indoor dining open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.), Sertich Ice Center (no public sessions but open for hockey tournament), and Rock Ledge Ranch Historic Site (all buildings closed on Monday and Friday, but the park will remain open to visitors).
