City of Columbia announces Christopher Ave as Communications director

(COLUMBIA, MO) ~ The City of Columbia has announced the appointment of Christopher Ave as the first director of their newly formed Communications department. Ave, who brings over 30 years of experience in journalism and strategic communications, will officially take on his new role on June 22.
According to Columbia City Manager De'Carlon Seewood, Ave's impressive background and expertise make him a valuable addition to the team. "We are excited to welcome him to the City and have no doubt that his leadership will greatly enhance our communication and engagement with the community," Seewood stated.

Ave's previous positions include director of media relations and public affairs at the University of Missouri, as well as director of communications at the St. Louis County Department of Public Health. He also served as a political and national editor at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Ave holds a master's degree in journalism from Columbia University.
Expressing his enthusiasm for his new role, Ave said, "I am thrilled at the opportunity to lead communications and engagement efforts for the world-class city of Columbia." With his extensive experience and passion for effective communication, Ave is expected to make a significant impact in his new position.
