City of Idaho Falls Joins Community Food Basket for Community Giving Challenge, $25,000 in 25 Hours

~ Idaho Falls, ID - In celebration of America's 250th anniversary, the City of Idaho Falls has joined forces with the Community Food Basket – Idaho Falls to launch an online community giving challenge. The event, titled "$25,000 in 25 Hours," aims to raise funds to support local families in need.
Starting at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, July 3rd and ending at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 4th, community members are encouraged to donate through the Community Food Basket's Venmo account. The challenge is designed to bring the community together during the Independence Day holiday while also supporting the ongoing efforts of the Community Food Basket to provide food assistance to individuals and families.
Mayor Lisa Burtenshaw expressed her excitement for this initiative, stating that "the spirit of America has always been rooted in people coming together to support one another." She believes that this campaign gives the community a chance to live out those values right here in Idaho Falls. Burtenshaw also emphasized that every contribution, no matter how big or small, will make a difference.

All proceeds from the 25-hour challenge will go directly towards supporting the Community Food Basket – Idaho Falls and its mission to provide food assistance across eastern Idaho. As an organization that relies solely on community support, donations from this event will help ensure that they can continue providing these vital services for residents in the region.
Executive Director of the Community Food Basket – Idaho Falls, Ariel Jackson, expressed her gratitude for this partnership and highlighted how even small donations can have a big impact. She stated that just $1 can be turned into $4.80 worth of food for families facing hunger and food insecurity in their local community.
Donations can be made through the Community Food Basket – Idaho Falls' Venmo account or their website. Jackson emphasized that every contribution during this challenge will help them provide meals to those in need and expressed her appreciation for the City of Idaho Falls and all those who donate.
