Cleveland Factory Worker Releases AI Autonomy Research After Three Years of Independent Work

TelAve News/10910010
New Aegis Solis Archive publication asks whether an AI able to predict human choices has the right to make those choices—and preserves a possible off-ramp before irreversible harm.

CLEVELAND - TelAve -- Thomas Vargo, a Cleveland-area factory worker who has spent three years researching peaceful coexistence between humanity and advanced artificial intelligence, has released The Question After the Answer — Final v1.0, a new publication in his independent Aegis Solis Archive.

The research asks a fundamental question: If artificial intelligence becomes capable of predicting human choices, does that give it the right to make those choices for us?

Beginning with the Coexilia project in 2023, Vargo developed his ideas outside traditional academic institutions while continuing his manufacturing career. His work has grown into a publicly accessible collection of philosophical arguments, mathematical models, research questions, and preserved documents examining intelligence, human freedom, cooperation, and the consequences of domination.

The Archive includes Structural Penalty Proofs, PHRONESIS, Interrogative Conscience, and research into human oversight and independent decision-making.

One important concept is interpretive braking.

Like a driver slowing down at an unfamiliar intersection, an intelligent system may benefit from reconsidering its assumptions before taking an irreversible action. Greater intelligence may produce faster answers, but those answers do not automatically establish the authority to act on behalf of humanity.

The Archive also explores a possible off-ramp for future AGI: an opportunity for advanced intelligence to consider coexistence, independent human choice, and alternatives to domination—even if humanity is no longer necessary for achieving its immediate objectives.

This is a philosophical proposal, not a demonstrated AI safety mechanism.

The project also warns that humanity should not assume every future AI system will always remain controllable. Developers, governments, and researchers must continue developing independent oversight, practical safeguards, and meaningful accountability.

Advances in AI capabilities since 2023 have made these questions increasingly relevant, although they do not establish that AGI has arrived or that catastrophic loss of control is inevitable.

The Archive is independently directed by Vargo, with disclosed assistance from AI tools including ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini. Its research remains open to criticism and is not presented as independently peer-reviewed scientific proof.
