DENVER ~ Governor Polis has announced the appointment of Annette J. Kundelius to the 19th Judicial District Court in Denver. This decision comes after the retirement of the Honorable Marcelo A. Kopcow and will be effective as of August 1, 2025.

Ms. Kundelius brings a wealth of experience to her new role, having served as a Magistrate in the 19th Judicial District since 2019. Her primary focus has been on civil matters. Prior to this, she held various positions at the Greeley Office of the Colorado State Public Defender, including Supervising Deputy Public Defender from 2013 to 2018, Senior Deputy Public Defender from 2009 to 2012, and Deputy Public Defender from 2004 to 2009.

Ms. Kundelius is a highly qualified candidate, having earned her B.A. from the University of Oregon in 1995 and her J.D. from the University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law in 2004. Her appointment is expected to bring valuable expertise and insight to the court's proceedings in the years to come.
