Colorado: Governor Polis Appoints Rachel A. Catt to the 2nd Judicial District Court

DENVER ~ Denver - In a move to fill a vacancy in the 2nd Judicial District Court, Governor Polis has appointed Rachel A. Catt as the newest judge. The appointment comes after the retirement of Honorable Martin F. Egelhoff and will be effective from August 1, 2026.

Ms. Catt brings a wealth of experience to her new role, having served as a Magistrate in the 17th Judicial District since 2022. Her docket primarily consists of civil matters. Prior to this, she was the Owner of the Law Office of Rachel Catt, LLC from 2019 to 2022 and also worked as Of Counsel at Harrington Brewster Mahoney Smits, PC in 2019.

With over two decades of legal experience, Ms. Catt has also held positions such as Associate Attorney at Harrington, Brewster & Clein, PC (2015-2018), Senior Associate Attorney at Johnson Marquez Legal Group (2014-2015), Owner at Law Office of Rachel Catt (2006-2013), and Associate Attorney at Nachlis & Fink (2002-2006).

She received her B.A. from the University of Colorado in 1996 and her J.D. from The George Washington University Law School in 2001. Ms. Catt's appointment is expected to bring valuable expertise and perspective to the 2nd Judicial District Court.
