DENVER ~ In a recent decision, the United States Supreme Court has blocked the Trump Administration's attempts to use the United States Postal Service as a tool to hinder Americans and Coloradans from voting in the upcoming midterm election. This ruling has been welcomed by many as a victory for democracy.
Governor Polis of Colorado expressed his appreciation for the Supreme Court's decision, stating that it is good news for their state's elections. He also highlighted that Colorado has a reputation for conducting secure elections and this ruling will allow them to proceed without any confusion or bureaucratic obstacles that could have made it harder for citizens to cast their votes.

According to state law, every active voter in Colorado will receive a ballot by mail between October 2 and October 9, 2026, for the General Election. The ballots can be returned at designated drop boxes across the state starting from October 12, 2026. Additionally, early vote centers will be open statewide from October 19, 2026.
This decision by the Supreme Court provides much-needed clarity and ensures that more Americans can participate in the democratic process without facing unnecessary barriers. It is a reminder that our democracy is strongest when everyone has equal access to exercise their right to vote.
