Colorado: New Electronics Manufacturing Business Comes to Alamosa County with Support from Rural Jump-Start Program

ALAMOSA ~ Alamosa, Colorado - In a recent announcement, Governor Jared Polis and the Business Funding and Incentives (BF&I) division of the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) revealed that HemCS United, Inc. will be expanding in Alamosa with support from the Rural Jump-Start program. The company, which provides customized Electronic Manufacturing Services, is the U.S. subsidiary of Switzerland-based Hemar Group.
The expansion will see HemCS United establish a U.S. Operations and Manufacturing division in Alamosa, bringing advanced electronics manufacturing services to the region. This includes engineering and design services, prototyping and production, and advanced testing for clients in various industries such as medical technology, defense, industrial automation, and consumer electronics.
Governor Polis expressed his excitement about the company's decision to invest in rural Colorado. "Colorado is growing and businesses are taking notice," he said. "I am excited to welcome HemCS United to Alamosa. Investing in our rural communities makes our entire state stronger."

HemCS United Owner and CEO Patrick Schaer also shared his enthusiasm for establishing their presence in Alamosa. "We are excited to establish HemCS United in Alamosa and become part of the San Luis Valley community," he said. "The Rural Jump-Start Program made it possible for us to bring advanced electronics manufacturing to a region with tremendous potential."
The Rural Jump-Start program aims to encourage economic development and job creation in economically distressed, rural counties of Colorado. As part of this program, HemCS United will receive $15,000 in grant funding to support the launch of its operations. Additionally, eligible employees will receive a state personal income tax exemption.
Eve Lieberman, Executive Director of OEDIT, highlighted the importance of programs like Rural Jump-Start in supporting local communities and diversifying the state's economy. "We are thrilled to see HemCS United come to southern Colorado and today's announcement highlights our state's continued commitment to innovation and diversification of our economy," she said.

The company's decision to expand in Alamosa was also supported by the San Luis Valley Development Resources Group, a sponsoring entity that helps identify business candidates in their communities. Executive Director Sarah Stoeber expressed her excitement about the potential impact of HemCS United's investment in the region. "Their investment represents an exciting opportunity to diversify our regional economy, bringing new revenue streams and high-quality job opportunities to the Valley," she said.
