Colorado Springs Airport Gears Up for the Holidays and New Air Service
TelAve News/10847189
~ Colorado Springs Airport (COS) has reported a slight decline in passenger numbers for the month of October 2024. According to the latest figures, a total of 210,247 passengers traveled through the airport, with 105,878 enplaning from COS. This represents a decrease of 7.2 percent compared to October 2023.
However, despite this decline, year-to-date numbers show a positive trend with a 7.4 percent increase in total passengers and enplanements. So far this year, COS has recorded 2,071,069 total passengers and 1,037,566 enplanements.
The decrease in October numbers can be attributed to the reduced availability of seats in the market. In October 2024, COS offered 129,974 seats which is a 6.9 percent decline from the same month last year. On the other hand, year-to-date seat availability has increased by 6 percent with an average load factor of 81.5 percent.
Looking ahead to future developments at COS, Allegiant Airlines has announced plans to begin new service in February 2025. This will include three nonstop routes to Phoenix/Mesa via Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport (AZA), Santa Ana/Orange County via John Wayne Airport (SNA), and St. Pete/Tampa via St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport (PIE).
