Colorado Springs Airport Monthly Update – September 2026

TelAve News/10910972
~ Colorado Springs Airport recorded 109,515 passenger enplanements in September 2026, down 0.2% from the same month a year earlier, according to the airport.

Delta Air Lines' enplanements rose 16.4% year over year. The airport attributed the increase to additional flights to Atlanta and Minneapolis-St. Paul; Delta also operates twice-daily service to Salt Lake City. Southwest Airlines' enplanements increased 1.3%, with the carrier offering six-times-weekly service to Houston Hobby.

United Airlines' enplanements fell 14.6%. The airport said the decline was likely related to a significant year-over-year reduction in capacity to Denver.

The airport said it is working to support existing routes, strengthen airline partnerships and pursue expanded service.

Other airport updates include a planned holiday parking discount: Long-Term and Overflow lot rates will be $6 per day from Nov. 25-29 and Dec. 21-27, 2026. The airport also said it ranked eighth in the USA TODAY 10BEST Readers' Choice Award for Best Small Airport, marking its first nomination and win in the awards.

On Sept. 24, the airport closed a transaction with the Creel family for an approximately 13-acre parcel in Peak Innovation Park. The family plans to develop a pecan shelling and distribution facility, which the airport said is expected to create 50 jobs with an average annual wage of $76,000 and involve $50 million in capital investment. The approximately 73,600-square-foot facility is expected to begin construction in June 2027.

The airport also reported that phase two of the Milton E. Proby Parkway rehabilitation is substantially complete. Work included milling, crack repairs, paving and striping.

For November, the airport's schedule includes up to 12 daily flights to Denver and twice-daily service to Houston Intercontinental. Other listed routes include Atlanta, Salt Lake City, Dallas-Fort Worth, Chicago O'Hare, Houston Hobby, Las Vegas and Phoenix, with frequencies varying by date. Seasonal service to San Antonio is scheduled to resume on select days from Nov. 21 through Jan. 3, 2027. Minneapolis-St. Paul service is scheduled to return June 7, 2027.
