Colorado Springs: Circle Drive Bridges project continues summer traffic impacts
TelAve News/10904306
~ As the Circle Drive Bridges project nears completion, travelers can expect to encounter ongoing lane closures, detours, and delays in the area. This is due to the installation of a new water main and feeder lines within the construction corridor.
According to project officials, most of the bridge construction along Circle Drive has been completed. However, work is still underway on the new waterline. This addition is expected to improve long-term water service reliability and enhance system resiliency for the community.
Currently, there are two eastbound lanes on Circle Drive that remain closed between I-25 and Janitell Road until early October. Additionally, traffic has been reduced to one eastbound through lane east of Interstate 25. To accommodate this work, the median at Janitell Road and Circle Drive will be closed for the weekend starting on Friday, August 21st. Travelers are advised to follow posted signs and use designated detours.

To avoid any potential delays or confusion, travelers should plan for extra travel time and be aware of workers and equipment near the roadway. They should also follow posted signs for the latest traffic patterns and detours as construction schedules, restrictions, and closure dates are subject to change.
The Circle Drive Bridges project began in order to replace four aging bridge structures originally built in 1963. It aims to improve long-term safety, mobility, and multimodal access along this crucial transportation corridor.
