This development has been welcomed by Mayor Yemi Mobolade, who believes that public safety is crucial for a thriving city. "Today's announcement is a significant win for Colorado Springs," stated Mayor Mobolade. "It reflects our shared commitment to keeping our community safe and well-served."
The fire department, led by 2024 Fire Chief of the Year Randy Royal, has been recognized for their exceptional training and professionalism. Chief Royal expressed his gratitude towards Mayor Mobolade and City Council for allocating funds to ensure that the department can maintain its strength and readiness. "As your Fire Chief, I am committed to keeping our response times and staffing numbers at optimal levels to serve our community with excellence," he stated.
