Columbia: Overnight mill and overlay pavement maintenance scheduled for Old Highway 63, July 24-31

(COLUMBIA, MO) ~ Columbia, MO - The City of Columbia Public Works department has announced that overnight pavement maintenance will take place on Old Highway 63 starting at 7 p.m. on Friday, July 24. The project, which is being carried out by contractor Capital Paving, aims to improve the condition of the roadway between Business Loop 70 and Grindstone Parkway.

According to officials, crews will be working nightly from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., beginning at Old Highway 63 South near Chinaberry Drive and progressing north towards Monroe Street. The project is expected to be completed by 7 a.m. on Friday, July 31, weather permitting.

To improve the condition of the roadway, crews will be milling away the worn top layer of asphalt and paving a new surface. Temporary lane closures will be necessary while work is being carried out and motorists are advised to use caution and consider alternate routes when possible.
