Columbia Police respond to missing person call

(COLUMBIA, MO) ~ Columbia Police Department successfully located 75-year-old Phillip McWhorter, who had been reported missing on the night of November 16th. The call for a missing person came in around 11 p.m. from the Providence Road and Green Meadows area, where Phillip was last seen. As a new resident to the area, Phillip suffers from dementia.

Officers immediately began searching for Phillip and requested air support to aid in their efforts. A Silver Advisory was also issued to alert the public of the missing man. Fortunately, multiple members of the community reported seeing a man matching Phillip's description, leading to his safe return home.

Medical professionals examined Phillip upon his return and confirmed he was unharmed. The Columbia Police Department expressed their gratitude to the Boone County Sheriff's Office for their assistance in the search and to the public for their help in locating Phillip.
