LONDON - TelAve -- PRESS RELEASE
CWP to preview Business Switching at Connected Britain 2025 – Driving industry standards and business choice
London, 17 Sep 2025 – Common Wholesale Platform (CWP), a founding member of the Technical Architecture Group (TAG), will preview its new Business Switching solution at Connected Britain 2025. This launch marks a major step forward for UK businesses, giving them faster, simpler, and more reliable ways to change telecom providers while ensuring compliance with Ofcom rules.
The solution builds on the Connected Services Framework (CSF) – the open industry standard for business switching and collaborative processes, developed by TAG. Unlike consumer switching, where the One Touch Switching (OTS) hub became the mandated centralised model, the CSF avoids the limitations of a single hub, offering a distributed, extensible, and cost-efficient framework for the UK telecom market.
Transforming Business Switching
Business switching has long been complex and disruptive. CWP's new solution, powered by CSF, changes this by reducing downtime, cutting admin, saving time and boosting competition.

The CSF was specifically designed to overcome challenges seen with OTS and to empower providers with greater flexibility. Its key innovations include:
CWP at the Heart of Industry Collaboration
As an active participant in TAG – alongside NowYoYo, iconectiv, Zentive, ICUK, and Comms Gateway – CWP has been instrumental in shaping the CSF from the ground up. By helping define and test this new standard, CWP is not just adapting to industry change but actively driving it.
Why it matters
For the first time, UK businesses will have a clear, compliant, and customer-focused way to switch telecom providers. That means more choice, less hassle, and greater confidence when selecting the right partner for the future.

The CSF was specifically designed to overcome challenges seen with OTS and to empower providers with greater flexibility. Its key innovations include:
- A secure, distributed directory of ISPs, maintained without reliance on a central hub.
- Lower costs for providers, removing barriers faced by smaller ISPs. Something that is a challenge for consumer switching using OTS.
- Enhanced messaging between providers, including CP-CP communications and outage notifications.
- An extensible framework, paving the way for future services like improved number porting and wholesale capabilities.
