Spiritual Life Stories Encourages Individuals to Write Their Stories

PLANO, Texas - TelAve -- Spiritual Literacy Month has been celebrated every December since 1996, thanks to authors and editors Frederic and Mary Ann Brussat. They introduced this observance to inspire people to read at least one book about spirituality, faith, or religion during this month nearly 30 years ago.

The concept of spiritual legacy dates to the beginning of time and is evident in the stories of the Old Testament. Readers can explore the spiritual journeys of figures like Adam and Eve, Moses and the Israelites' escape from Egypt and many others. The New Testament also offers accounts of Jesus and the apostles, highlighting miracles, challenges, and life lessons.

From the Bible, leaders developed various religions and today, followers recognize a higher power through worship, prayer, community, and various practices.

The Brussat's introduced Spiritual Legacy Month to promote understanding and respect for different religions and recognition of God, for all faiths. For those who do not consider themselves deeply spiritual, they can pursue learning more about religion to connect to some-thing bigger than themselves, and to understand more about why people believe what they do.

The December observance focuses on recognizing the spiritual perspective of everyday life, for God is present in all aspects. Taking time to read about one's faith and other faiths will allow individuals to connect more deeply with their own beliefs and those of others.

Writing one's own spiritual life story will also help individuals to reflect on their own story and have it to share when giving one's testimony or using it when others need encouragement.

SpiritualLifeStories.com (http://www.spirituallifestories.com/) is an online platform for a person to answer hundreds of questions about his or her spiritual legacy, beginning from childhood through today. Not all questions require answering, and participants can add questions. When the author is finished, he or she approves the content and submits it to be published in book form.

The book can be gifted to a parent, a relative or a friend to complete and is $99 for two years of access to enter information. Additional copies of the book can be ordered, and audio books are also available.  To learn more, go to SpiritualLifeStories.com.
