TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - TelAve -- Statement from the Florida Charter School Alliance in response to the lawsuit filed by the Florida Education Association challenging school choice programs

It is disappointing to see the Florida Education Association continue efforts that would limit parents' ability to choose the best educational opportunities for their children. Critics of school choice are out of step with many of today's families, students, and educators.

For nearly three decades, Florida leaders have supported K-12 education by expanding quality school choice options, supporting historically underserved communities, and increasing teacher salaries. Today, nearly 500,000 students — about 14% of Florida's K-12 public school population — attend charter schools.
