EarthID Wins Reserve Bank of India's HaRBInger 2025 for Tokenised KYC

TelAve News/10893901
EarthID, a UK‑based decentralised identity platform specialising in reusable KYC and privacy‑preserving verification, today announced that it has been declared winner under the Tokenised KYC problem statement at the RBI's HaRBInger 2025.

LONDON - TelAve -- HaRBInger 2025: Innovation for Transformation is the fourth edition of the Reserve Bank of India's global hackathon series, focused on driving innovation in fintech and financial services. This year's theme, "Secure Banking: Powered by Identity, Integrity and Inclusivity", highlights the central bank's focus on strengthening digital trust, protecting customer data and advancing financial inclusion. This edition received 496 proposals from innovators across 15 countries, with 21 finalists advancing to the final stage across three problem statements: Tokenised KYC, Offline CBDC (e₹) and Enhancing Trust.

Winners were selected by an independent jury based on innovation, solution comprehensiveness, product readiness, scalability and security, following a multi‑stage evaluation process culminating in a finale in Bengaluru, where EarthID's Sangrah was chosen as the winning solution for Tokenised KYC.

EarthID's winning solution, Sangrah, is a reusable, privacy-preserving tokenised KYC layer built on top of India's digital public infrastructure. Verified identity attributes are retrieved from trusted sources and converted into tamper-proof digital tokens, stored in a user-controlled wallet. The solution enables KYC to move from a repetitive document submission process to a portable, consent-driven trust mechanism, allowing secure and reusable verification across financial institutions.

"We see Sangrah as a step towards making trust reusable, enabling simpler, safer and more inclusive access to financial services, and contributing to India's Viksit Bharat ambition," said Priya Guliani, CEO of EarthID. "It aligns closely with the Reserve Bank of India's vision for secure banking built on identity, integrity and inclusivity," she added.

"India has built identity infrastructure at population scale, but KYC remains repetitive in practice, Sangrah addresses this by treating KYC not as a one-time document upload, but as reusable, consent-driven digital trust infrastructure." said Shiv Aggarwal, CTO of EarthID.
