TelAve News/10906217
~ On the evening of September 11, 2026, the Idaho Falls Fire Department responded to a significant structure fire in the northeast area of Idaho Falls. The call came in at approximately 9:16 p.m., reporting a fully engulfed manufactured home with the fire spreading to the front porch.
Upon arrival, firefighters were met with a fully involved home and numerous small explosions occurring inside. Additional resources were quickly brought to the scene as crews began attacking the fire. To ensure safety and control traffic, northbound traffic was temporarily shut down.
The fire also extended to an adjacent property, burning several trees and an area of dry grass between the two homes. However, firefighters were able to prevent it from reaching the neighboring residence.

Unfortunately, the involved home and two vehicles were deemed a total loss. After extinguishing the flames, crews conducted extensive overhaul and mop-up operations to ensure all hot spots were extinguished.
Thankfully, there were no reported injuries from this incident. One resident was evaluated by EMS for possible smoke inhalation but declined treatment and transport.
The estimated property loss is approximately $250,000. The cause of the fire is still under investigation by authorities.
This serves as a reminder for all residents to practice proper fire safety measures in their homes to prevent such incidents from occurring. The Idaho Falls Fire Department urges everyone to stay vigilant and take necessary precautions to keep themselves and their properties safe.
