Founding CEO of Measures for Justice Announces Plan to Step Down in 2026; Leadership Transition Plan

TelAve News/10879880
ROCHESTER, N.Y. - TelAve -- Measures for Justice (MFJ) announced today that founding Chief Executive Officer, Amy Bach, plans to transition out of her role in 2026, having led the organization for 15 years. As the founder of MFJ, she will take on a consulting role and turn over the day-to-day operations to a new CEO. The search is being conducted under the leadership of the Board of Directors and On-Ramps, an executive search and consulting firm that serves mission-driven organizations in the social sector.

Since its founding in 2011, MFJ has become the leading vehicle for criminal justice data transparency, accountability, and community outreach. The organization has set the national standard for what constitutes high-quality data, how to improve data infrastructure, and how communities can use data to set new policy.

"On behalf of the entire Board, I'm grateful for Amy's passionate service to advancing how the entire country measures justice and centers community in the process of setting evidence-based policy goals," said Ayanna Clunis, Chair of the MFJ Board of Directors. "As the founder of Measures for Justice, Amy surmounted skepticism and proved the naysayers wrong so that today, using criminal justice data to see how the system treats people is just a matter of course. Due to Amy's tireless efforts and relentless optimism, we're seeing the country embrace data as a backbone of reform. We're thrilled she has agreed to stay involved as an advisor as we embark on this new chapter for the organization."

"It has truly been an honor to help make criminal justice data an essential part of how we carry out justice in this country. And it's been a privilege to work alongside my colleagues to help build MFJ into the high-impact organization it has become," said Ms. Bach. "MFJ has moved the needle on data transparency in so many ways, which has been possible only because of the strength of our relationships and the unwavering commitment from our supporters to helping communities use data to thrive. I am full of gratitude for all our partners over the years, and I am looking forward to seeing how the momentum we have co-created will continue to grow."

Through its trusted relationships with governments, communities, and supporters, MFJ plays a unique role in helping criminal justice agencies and community-based organizations use data to improve public safety, due process, and smarter spending in criminal justice.
