Free Calculator Helps US Importers Claim IEEPA Tariff Refunds Following Supreme Court Ruling
TelAve News/10890005
ClaimTariffRefund.com launches free tool as $175B in customs duties become eligible for refund after February 2026 court decisions
DALLAS - TelAve -- Following the Supreme Court's landmark February 20, 2026 ruling in Learning Resources, Inc. v. Trump, which struck down all tariffs imposed under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA), ClaimTariffRefund.com has launched a free refund calculator and step-by-step guide to help US importers estimate and claim their refunds.
The Court of International Trade followed on March 4, 2026 with a broad order directing US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to refund IEEPA duties to all importers — not just those who had filed lawsuits. An estimated $175 billion in tariff payments collected between February 4, 2025 and February 24, 2026 are now potentially eligible for return.
"Most small and mid-sized importers have no idea they're owed money — or what steps to take," said a spokesperson for ClaimTariffRefund.com. "We built this tool to close that information gap before the window closes."
The free calculator at ClaimTariffRefund.com allows importers to:
- Estimate their refund based on country of origin, import period, and total import value
More on TelAve News
- Check eligibility across all IEEPA tariff categories (China, Canada, Mexico, and all other countries)
- Access a step-by-step action plan covering ACE account registration, ES-003 data pulls, Post-Summary Corrections, and protective CIT filings
WHAT IMPORTERS NEED TO KNOW:
The refund window covers all IEEPA tariffs paid between February 4, 2025 (when the first fentanyl-related tariffs took effect) and February 24, 2026 (when the Supreme Court's ruling ended IEEPA authority). Affected tariff rates include:
- China: ~10–25% IEEPA duties
- Canada and Mexico: 25% IEEPA duties
- All other countries: 10% reciprocal tariff
IMPORTANT: The Department of Justice is expected to appeal the CIT's March 4 order. Trade attorneys recommend that importers file a protective action in the Court of International Trade to preserve their rights while the appeal process unfolds.
ABOUT THE TOOL:
ClaimTariffRefund.com provides free educational content and a refund estimation calculator for US importers. The site does not provide legal advice. Importers should consult a licensed customs attorney before taking legal action.
