Georgia Municipal Association Named Atlanta Top Workplace

Employee feedback earns GMA recognition among Metro Atlanta's leading workplaces
ATLANTA - TelAve -- The Georgia Municipal Association (GMA) has been named a 2026 Atlanta Top Workplace, earning recognition for its workplace culture and employee experience. GMA placed among the top 50 workplaces in Metro Atlanta in the category for organizations with fewer than 150 employees. The recognition was announced by Top Workplaces in partnership with its media partner, Axios.
Top Workplaces is one of the nation's most credible employer recognition programs because it is powered by employee feedback. Last fall, 99 GMA employees participated in the annual Energage survey. The survey is taken by thousands of organizations each year, and winners are determined by Top Workplaces. There are no self-nominations or organization applications. GMA's survey results were compared with those of similarly sized organizations in the Atlanta metro area, and GMA was selected based on those results.

"This honor is particularly meaningful because it reflects what our employees say about their experience and the work environment at GMA," said Larry Hanson, CEO and Executive Director of the Georgia Municipal Association. "Our employees are the foundation of everything we accomplish. Their expertise, professionalism, passion for service, and willingness to work together across the organization allow us to provide exceptional support to Georgia's cities. We are proud to be recognized as a Top Workplace, and even more proud that the recognition was earned through the voices of our employees."
The recognition reflects GMA's ongoing emphasis on employee engagement and collaborative organizational culture. Internally, GMA describes that commitment as One GMA, an approach that encourages employees and departments to work across organizational lines toward a shared purpose.
That shared purpose extends beyond GMA's Atlanta headquarters. The association represents all 536 cities in Georgia, providing advocacy, training, employee benefits and other services and resources that help municipal governments become more innovative, effective and responsive.

"Earning a Top Workplaces award is a badge of honor for companies, especially because it comes authentically from their employees," said Eric Rubino, CEO of Energage. "That's something to be proud of. In today's market, leaders must ensure they're allowing employees to have a voice and be heard. That's paramount. Top Workplaces do this, and it pays dividends."
The 2026 Atlanta Top Workplaces program is presented in partnership with Axios, providing independent, third-party recognition of organizations whose employees report strong workplace experiences.
About the Georgia Municipal Association: Based in Atlanta, GMA is a voluntary, non-profit organization that provides legislative advocacy, educational, employee benefit and consulting services to all of Georgia's 536 cities. For more information, visit www.gacities.com.
