Ghostlight announces milestone 10th season, focused on work for, by or featuring our ensemble
TelAve News/10903022
The 2026-2027 is a love song to our Ensemble; we have grown and changed from where we started, but our mission remains the same
CHICAGO - TelAve -- Ghostlight Ensemble announces its milestone 10th Season, which reflects its continuing commitment to bolstering stories written, directed, starring and championed by its Ensemble members.
"Ghostlight started as a company that wanted to nurture and respect the talent of its Ensemble members, as it says in the company history on our website," said co-Artistic Director and Founding Member Holly Robison. "Our lineup this year really spotlights our Ensemble while still committing to our mission to tell stories that challenge the status quo through timeless stories, immersive environments and unconventional staging.
"Our 10th Season is serious and weird and funny and us. It is the theatre we, the Ensemble in Ghostlight Ensemble, love to make."

The 2026-2027 season will feature two mainstage productions, a play for young audiences and the return of Ghostlight's popular co-production with The Driehaus Museum, Holiday Spirits: A Collection of Victorian Yuletide Ghost Stories, now in its third year.
Our first full production, American Son written by Christopher Demos-Brown and directed by Ebby Offord, opens in September at Friendship Community Place in Jefferson Park.
In American Son, an estranged biracial couple must confront their feelings about race and bias after their son is detained by the local police following a traffic stop incident. Their disparate histories and backgrounds inform their assumptions as they try to find out what happened to their son.
The show is led by Ensemble Member Courtney Marie as Kendra and Ensemble Member Khenmu Menu-Ra as Lt. Stokes with Shane Novoa Rhoades as Scott and Derek Preston Ray as Larkin. Understudies are Terah Jene, Eric K. Roberts, Kyle Roth and Ryan Ken.
