Governor Abbott Appoints Rhode To Public Utility Commission Of Texas

~ Austin, TX- Governor Greg Abbott has announced the appointment of Patrick Rhode to the Public Utility Commission (PUC) of Texas. Rhode, who currently serves as the Founder and President of Patrick Rhode Strategies, will begin his term on April 1, 2026 and it will expire on September 1, 2027.

The PUC is responsible for regulating the state's electric, water, wastewater, and telecommunications utility industries. They also work to implement legislation and provide assistance to customers in resolving consumer complaints.

Rhode brings a wealth of experience to this role. He previously served as Special Assistant to the President of the United States and Senior Advisor to the National Aeronautics and Space Administration. He also held senior positions at the United States Department of Homeland Security after 9/11 and served as Vice President of an international infrastructure company.

Rhode holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Arkansas (UA), Fayetteville and a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from UA at Little Rock. His extensive background in both politics and communications make him a valuable addition to the PUC team.
