Governor Abbott Celebrates Caterpillar's $5 Million Investment In Texas' Manufacturing Workforce
TelAve News/10900344
~ Governor Greg Abbott, along with local leaders and representatives from Caterpillar Inc., gathered at the company's advanced engine manufacturing facility in Seguin to celebrate a major investment in Texas. The company has committed up to $5 million as part of its five-year, $100 million Building the Future Workforce Initiative.
In a statement, Governor Abbott praised Texas for its renowned high-skilled job training programs and expressed gratitude to Caterpillar for their contribution towards building a better future for all Texans. He also acknowledged the significance of this investment in making Texas a leading brand for generations to come.
The funding will primarily focus on three key areas: reducing barriers to training, developing a future-ready skills framework for advanced manufacturing and industry technician roles, and strengthening pathways that connect students and workers to high-demand careers. Texas was chosen as the location for this initiative due to its strong infrastructure, renowned educational institutions such as Texas State Technical College, and a thriving manufacturing sector that serves as a national model for workforce development.
