Governor Ron DeSantis Appoints Thirteen to the Florida Concrete Masonry Education Council

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. ~ TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - In a recent announcement, Governor Ron DeSantis has appointed nine new members and reappointed four existing members to the Florida Concrete Masonry Education Council. The council is responsible for promoting and advancing the use of concrete masonry in construction projects throughout the state.
Among the newly appointed members are Mark Arbuckle, Arnaldo Capote, Josh Hutchinson, James "Jamie" Johnson, Treavor Kuipers, Bob Marion, Jason Morin, Lisa Pelham, and Kyle Phelps. These individuals bring a wealth of experience and expertise to the council.
Arbuckle is currently the Vice President and General Manager for the Tampa Bay Region at Maschmeyer, Inc. He is also actively involved in his community as a board member of the Florida Independent Concrete Producers Association and the Masonry Apprentice Foundation. Arbuckle holds a bachelor's degree in marketing from the University of North Florida.
Capote, who has been appointed as Director of Sales at A1 Block Company, is a veteran of the United States Navy. He is also an active member of his community as a producer member of both the Florida Independent Concrete and Associated Products Association and the Greater Orlando Builders Association.
Hutchinson brings over 20 years of experience in sales to his role as Vice President of Sales for Florida at CEMEX. He is also actively involved in his community as Chairman of the Safety Committee and a member of the Florida Concrete and Products Association. Hutchinson holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Florida International University and a master's degree in business administration from Nova Southeastern University.

Johnson, who currently serves as Regional Operations Manager for Quikrete, previously worked as a Sales Representative for Polklok. He is an active member of his community as a member of the Concrete Products Group Regional Advisory Committee.
Kuipers has been appointed as Vice President of Purchasing for Carpenter Contractors of America, Inc. He previously served as the Director of Purchasing for the same company and holds a degree from Boston University.
Marion, who currently serves as Chief Operating Officer for E.R. Jahna Industries, brings a wealth of experience to the council. He has previously held positions such as General Manager of Quikrete Construction Materials and Director of Florida Operations for Argos. Marion holds a bachelor's degree from Virginia Wesleyan University.
Morin, a veteran of the United States Army, is currently the President of the Florida Chapter of Titan America. He has also held positions such as Principal at Rearden Advisors and Chief Executive Officer of Black Mountain Sand. Morin holds a bachelor's degree in engineering and management from Clarkson University and a master's degree in business administration from Missouri State University.
Pelham, who currently serves as Sales and Specifications Manager at Oldcastle APG, has been actively involved in her community as Chair of both the Masonry Association of Florida and the Masonry and Contractors Association of Florida Tampa Bay Chapter. She holds a bachelor's degree in business from South University.

Phelps, who currently serves as Sales Manager for Quality Block & Supply, is an active member of his community as Vice President of the Florida Independent Concrete and Products Association and a member of the Florida Masonry Association. Phelps holds a bachelor's degree in business from Lyon College and a master's degree in business from Oklahoma Wesleyan University.
In addition to these new appointments, Governor DeSantis has also reappointed four existing members to the council: David Cerniglia, Shawn McGee, Robert Melgaard, and Jerry Painter.
Cerniglia currently serves as Vice President and General Manager for the South Concrete Division of Preferred Materials. He is actively involved in his community as Chair of the Florida Masonry Apprenticeship and Education Foundation and a member of the Masonry Association of Florida Board of Directors. Cerniglia holds a bachelor's degree in finance from Pennsylvania State University.
McGee, who is the Owner and President of Oceanside Masonry, is a Certified General Contractor with the State of Florida. He is also a Certified Green Builder by Green Advantage and has been a resident of Palm Beach County for over 30 years.
Melgaard, who currently serves as National Director of Outreach and Education at the Masonry Contractors Association of America, is also a member of the Florida Masonry Apprenticeship and Education Foundation. He attended Florida Gateway College.
Painter, who currently serves as Owner of Jerry Painter Masonry Consulting, previously served as President of Painter Masonry, Inc. He has also served on the Santa Fe College Building Construction Advisory Committee and holds degrees from Santa Fe College and the University of Florida.
With these new appointments and reappointments, the Florida Concrete Masonry Education Council is well-equipped to continue promoting and advancing the use of concrete masonry in construction projects throughout the state.
