Habitat for Humanity announces 2026 Women Build initiative

FORT MYERS, Fla. - TelAve -- Habitat for Humanity of Lee and Hendry Counties will host its 2026 Women Build Kickoff Party on March 2 at The Forest Country Club in Fort Myers, marking the start of its 16th season dedicated to empowering women through homeownership.

Each year, Women Build brings together women and men to support safe, decent homes for female-led families in Lee and Hendry counties. This annual campaign raises funds for local home-building efforts to help women and their families, partnering with Habitat for affordable homeownership. Habitat's fundraising goal is $500,000 for the 2026 Women Build season.

Since 2011, Women Build in Lee and Hendry counties has partnered with 31 female-headed families to build strength and stability for their children through local fundraising and volunteer efforts. Last year, nearly 80% of Habitat's future homeowners were female-led households.

Sponsorship opportunities for the 16th annual Women Build season are available, with sponsor levels starting at $5,000. Sponsorship benefits include engagement opportunities with the Women Build program and recognition through public relations, digital marketing and social media. Tickets for the Kickoff Party will be available for purchase as the event approaches, which begins at 6 p.m. on Monday, March 2 at The Forest Country Club in Fort Myers.
