Halifax-Area Developer Builds Epic Collector, a Tool Now Used by Collectors Across North America
TelAve News/10881428
What began as a personal project has grown into a comprehensive platform offering collection tracking, real-world price estimates, and modern tools for hobbyists everywhere.
HALIFAX, Nova Scotia - TelAve -- A small independent developer in the Halifax region has built one of the most comprehensive tools in the collector community. Today, Epic Collector announces its full launch, offering a modern platform for collection management, real market valuation, and advanced tracking features used by collectors across North America.
Epic Collector began as a passion project for hobbyist and creator Cristian Ibanez, who recognized a gap in the tools available to collectors. Working alone and without outside funding, he developed a platform that helps users track, value, and understand their collections with clarity. What started as a personal initiative has grown into a daily resource for collectors in Canada, the United States, and other regions.

The platform combines tools that once required multiple services. Epic Collector provides detailed checklists for more than 25,000 collectibles, wishlist and preorder tracking, gallery uploads, collection sharing, and organized categories covering toys, comics, trading cards, books, and video games. It also integrates real-world market data sourced from eBay sold listings and features the Epic Estimator, a valuation tool that analyzes recent sales, filters outliers, scores match accuracy, and produces a realistic value range. Collectors use the Estimator to evaluate purchases, understand insurance needs, and determine the current value of items in their collections.
Epic Collector was built entirely by one developer in Nova Scotia. Ibanez created the platform from scratch, informed by his own experience as a collector searching for a single tool that did everything well. "Collectors deserve tools built by people who actually collect," said founder Cristian Ibanez. "My goal was to create something useful, reliable, and enjoyable to use. Seeing collectors across North America adopt it has been exciting and motivating."

Future features in development include marketplace capabilities, expanded collectible categories, trend tracking, advanced analytics for pro members, community tools, user groups, and enhanced valuation models that use long-term pricing data.
Epic Collector offers a free tier for new users and a pro membership for collectors who want deeper insights. A limited number of free one-year pro memberships have been released to early supporters.
