Harbour ISP Fuels Rapid Growth with netElastic Virtual BNG
TelAve News/10591659
vBNG provides tremendous cost and flexibility advantages for growing Australian ISP
SANTA CLARA, Calif. - TelAve -- netElastic, an innovative software company providing high-performance routing solutions, today announced Harbour ISP has selected netElastic vBNG to significantly increase its broadband scalability and reliability as it expands its broadband footprint throughout Australia.
Based in New South Wales, Australia, Harbour ISP has been providing high-quality internet services since 2005. Before deploying netElastic vBNG, Harbour ISP was experiencing rapid subscriber growth, and both new and existing customers were continually consuming more bandwidth and requiring more service offerings. These factors were placing enormous demands on Harbour's network.
"As we planned for our continued growth and expansion, our hardware-based routers offered limited scalability, which was hindering our ability to grow," said Tom Bishop, Harbour ISP Infrastructure Manager. "By switching to netElastic's software-based vBNGs running on white box servers, we dramatically increased our scalability and flexibility."

Harbour ISP has already achieved a 300% increase in users supported per vBNG instance and gained a four-fold increase in throughput since deploying netElastic vBNG.
With its software-defined networking (SDN) architecture, netElastic supports up to 128,000 subscribers per vBNG, with throughput up to 160 Gbps on a single server. netElastic also supports up to 400 Gbps in a multi-node or cluster configuration, due to the separation of data and control planes.
"Harbour ISP's successful history includes being a pioneer in bringing internet connectivity to rural Australia and continually focusing on delivering outstanding customer experiences," said David Williams, netElastic's Senior Vice-President, Sales & Marketing. "This customer focus, along with their need for a solution that easily and cost-effectively scaled with their growth plans, made netElastic vBNG an ideal choice for Harbour ISP."
"Our primary goal has always been customer satisfaction and vBNG has helped us to successfully grow our business while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction," added Tom Bishop from Harbour ISP. "The performance, scalability, and stability of vBNG along with support from netElastic have been keys to our network success."
