Health Response Alliance Responds to Changes in U.S. Vaccine Recommendations
TelAve News/10885058
Health Response Alliance issued the following statement in response to today's changes to national vaccine recommendations.
FALLS CHURCH, Va. - TelAve -- Health Response Alliance (HRA), a nonprofit focused on ensuring equitable access to essential health services during emergencies, issued the following statement in response to today's changes to national vaccine recommendations and schedules announced by federal health officials.
As federal guidance evolves, HRA emphasized the importance of maintaining clarity and access during disasters and public health emergencies. Disruptions to routine care, displacement, and crowded shelter environments can increase the risk of disease transmission at the very moments when prevention matters most.
Tom Cotter, CEO of Health Response Alliance, said:
"Disasters and public health emergencies often increase the risk of disease transmission as people are displaced, shelters fill up, and access to routine care is disrupted. In those moments, clear vaccine guidance and reliable access matter even more. Our concern is making sure families and providers are not left navigating uncertainty when the risk is actually higher."

HRA noted that changes to vaccine recommendations can have downstream effects on how vaccines are communicated, delivered, and prioritized across healthcare systems, particularly during emergencies when providers are operating under strained conditions. Clear, consistent guidance is critical for clinicians making time-sensitive decisions and for families seeking to protect themselves and their children.
The organization also underscored the need to ensure vaccine access remains intact for communities already facing barriers to care, including those affected by disasters, displacement, or healthcare disruptions. As emergency response systems continue to adapt to overlapping public health and climate-related threats, maintaining reliable preventive care remains a cornerstone of community resilience.
Health Response Alliance will continue to monitor the implementation of updated vaccine guidance and work with partners across the public, private, and nonprofit sectors to support clear communication, sustained access, and emergency-ready health systems.
