NEW YORK - TelAve -- At Opening Night of the US Open, When We All Vote, Kensington Grey and Gibson Dunn will host an invite-only VIP celebration honoring the legacy of Althea Gibson the pioneer who broke tennis's color line in 1956 to become the first Black player to win a Grand Slam, and whose civic engagement was as central to her story as her athletic achievements.
The evening marks the first public signal of When We All Vote's creator network initiative, bridging the gap between young voters and the ballot box. Hosted in partnership with the Althea Gibson Sports & Education Foundation, the event brings together established media voices, elected officials, and the country's top creators to carry Althea's civic legacy forward into the next generation.
