Idaho: Half-staff Flag Directive: Firefighter killed in line of duty

~ Idaho Gov. Brad Little ordered U.S. and state flags lowered to half-staff to honor Joseph Wyatt Gates, a Raft River firefighter who died in the line of duty this week in Cassia County.
The firetruck carrying Gates and another firefighter went off the road, according to the governor's announcement. The other firefighter was injured.

Flags will remain at half-staff until the day after Gates' memorial service, the date of which will be announced later. The order was issued under Idaho Code 67-820.
Little said he was saddened by Gates' death and asked Idahoans to keep the Gates family, the injured firefighter and first responders in their thoughts and prayers.
