JoinCBSA.ca Expands Free CBSA Training Hub as Agency Hiring Push Continues Into 2026
TelAve News/10909981
The trusted guide now covers the full path through the Officer Induction Training Program at the CBSA College in Rigaud — how long training takes, life at the College, graduation and field coaching at a new officer's first port.
BURNABY, British Columbia - TelAve -- JoinCBSA.ca, Canada's trusted resource for aspiring border services officers, announced the expansion of its CBSA training hub, a free and regularly updated guide to every stage of Canada Border Services Agency officer training from the day a conditional offer arrives, through the Officer Induction Training Program at the CBSA College in Rigaud, Quebec, to a new officer's first shift at the port.
https://joincbsa.ca/cbsa-training/
The Canada Border Services Agency continues one of the largest sustained recruitment efforts in the federal public service, and for successful applicants the training stage is where the questions pile up. The Officer Induction Training Program (OITP) is an intensive residential program at Rigaud, followed by structured field coaching at the officer's first port of entry — and candidates who arrive without knowing what to expect can put the posting they spent months earning at risk.

The expanded hub brings the site's training coverage together in one place, including:
- How long CBSA training takes, including the length of OITP and the on-the-job development that follows graduation
- What daily life at the CBSA College in Rigaud is like, from schedules and uniforms to inspections
- What happens at OITP graduation, and how new officers are matched with their ports
- How field coaching works at the port, and what the first months on the line look like
- What to expect on the first day as a newly hired officer
"Most candidates spend months on the application, the exam and the interview, and then arrive at Rigaud with almost no picture of what the next months look like," said Mr Ait, editor of JoinCBSA.ca. "Training is the last gate between an offer and the job. The goal of this hub is simple: no Canadian should walk into the CBSA College unprepared."
Every page on the hub is checked against official canada.ca sources and updated as CBSA processes change. The training guide sits alongside the site's other free resources, including province-by-province salary calculators, exam preparation guides and the CBSA Hiring Insider podcast, which explores the hiring process in depth.
